da stake casino: Sheffield Wednesday’s form has fallen off a cliff lately.
da bwin: The Owls have won just one of their previous 11 league games, and they’ve plummeted from being playoff contenders to being mid-table fodder.
Questions have been asked about Garry Monk, and it has to be said that one of his recent decisions has been absolutely baffling.
Indeed, we can’t make heads nor tails of why the former Birmingham City boss has chosen to freeze Sam Hutchinson out of the squad, but the boss has now explained himself.
What’s been said then?
Monk was taking part in his pre-match press conference ahead of the Owls’ game against Birmingham.

Understandably, he was asked about Hutchinson’s recent absence, and he explained why the £1.8m-rated man hasn’t been playing.
“I’ve said it before, about my experience in changing rooms and understanding what you need,” Monk said.
“Sam [Hutchinson] is similar to Keiren. The availability that he’s had and that continuity has not been there.”
He was then asked whether Hutchinson’s man’s style of play would strengthen his team during their current poor run, to which he replied:
“I totally understand that, but I don’t judge people on what they’ve done on the past. I don’t judge people on what’s written down on a piece of paper on their CV. I judge on what they’re doing here and now. I see what they’re doing every day, I’m the one that works with them every day. I see what’s required and what’s needed.
“I’ve had conversations with Sam and been clear. It’s a similar situation in terms of injuries and pick-ups and continuity. It’s simply not there. I can’t afford that. I need reliability in terms of being available and being ready and understanding that that needs to come continually.
“That’s part of the reason, decisions have been made and that’s about making decisions that are good for the group. I’ve been honest and open about those conversations.”
Ridiculous
If Monk’s policy is to freeze out a player due to recurring injuries he’s going to fall out with a lot of players.
Ok, it is annoying for a player to be unavailable, but injuries are part and parcel of the game, and while it is affecting the continuity of the squad, why would you even want continuity within a team that has won just once since the turn of the year?
If ever you wanted to shake things up it’d be now, Wednesday can’t buy a win at the moment, and persevering with the same group of players that are underperforming on a weekly basis is just foolish.
Monk desperately needs to reassess his view on this one.
