da dobrowin: It’s been another successful season for Celtic.
da fezbet: The Glasgow giants saw off the challenge of Aberdeen again this year to wrap up a fifth league title on the bounce and give Ronny Deila a happy end to his stint in charge. The Scandinavian’s time at the helm of the Bhoys has been an interesting one to say the least and for many the time is right for a new manager to take charge.
Yes, Deila has led the club to the league title every season he has been in the dugout, but the club haven’t faced strong opposition for the Scottish crown ever since Rangers were dumped out of the big time. Take into account indifferent cup and European form it makes sense that a new manager is in place to change that for 2016/17.
The Scottish Premiership could be one of the most competitive yet next year as Rangers return, Aberdeen look to push on and Hearts aim to build on a strong season. Celtic fans are also craving a decent run in the Champions League, and whomever comes in at Celtic Park knows that this will be a big early marker for how the side is progressing.
There’s plenty of names circulating at the moment so here at FootballFanCast we’re giving you the rundown of the FIVE best options to take the Scottish champions forward…
David Moyes
Despite all the mocking that Moyes had to suffer during his time at Manchester United, the former Real Sociedad boss is still a good manager. Moyes started his playing career with Celtic and knows Scottish football having played for Dunfermline and Hamilton Academical. He knows what it’s like to manage a big club and in Europe and the fans are bound to give him time to succeed. Tie this with far less scrutiny on him than at United, there’s no reason why he shouldn’t be a hit.
Neil Lennon
A Celtic man through and through, Lennon is in the frame to return to his old managerial post.
He won titles with the club both as a player and manager, so Lennon knows exactly what it takes at Celtic and given in his first spell he guided the team to the last 16 of the Champions League and beat Barcelona during the four years of that tenure the fans would welcome him with open arms.
Brendan Rodgers
This could be the opportunity Rodgers is waiting for.
The Ulsterman hasn’t had another job since leaving Liverpool in late 2015 and despite numerous links with other clubs he is yet to accept any offers that may have come his way. Surely given the chance though he’d look at the Celtic job and bring his quick passing and pressing football to the champions. He will have learnt a great deal on Merseyside and would bring that north of the border.

Martin O’Neill
Another Northern Irishman, O’Neill has a wealth of experience and would be another fan favourite.
He’s done exceptionally well with the Republic of Ireland in getting them qualified for EURO 2016 and if he fancied a return to club management, there’s no reason why he wouldn’t do well at Celtic again. He built a side consisting of players like Henrik Larsson, Neil Lennon and Alan Thompson in what was a great period for the club and he might want that challenge once more.
[ad_pod id=’euro-2016′ align=’center’]
Paul Lambert
Another former Celtic player, Lambert made 193 appearances in eight years at the club.
He obviously has some managerial skill, given what he did for Norwich and since has had to deal with the issues behind the scenes at Aston Villa and most recently Blackburn Rovers, so he deserves some credit. Lambert resigned from Rovers towards the end of this season and some think that was to put him in line for the Celtic job, whether the Glasgow club think he’s their man, time will tell.
