Leeds United have looked at a number of proven Championship goal scorers this month.
The likes of Che Adams, Dwight Gayle and Jarrod Bowen have all been linked with a move to Elland Road, one season on from netting at least 20 goals in this division.
However, there hasn’t been a more prolific Football League striker this millennium than Billy Sharp, so it should come as no surprise that Leeds have looked into the possibility of signing the Blades’ captain.
Indeed, the Whites have been linked with Sharp, but one man who doesn’t think he’ll be moving to Elland Road this month is The Athletic’s Sheffield United correspondent.

What’s been said then?
Richard Sutcliffe was taking part in a post-match Q&A session after the Blades’ 1-0 loss to Manchester City.
Understandably, questions were asked about Billy Sharp’s future.
“Decision totally left with Billy, Charles. He deserves that, considering all done for the club. If I was a betting man, I’d say he stays. But don’t hold me to that on the 31st!”
Not the worst news
It’s never good to hear that one of your transfer targets isn’t likely to join, but this isn’t the worst news that Leeds could have received.
Sharp may be a brilliant goalscorer, netting 23 times last term, but Marcelo Bielsa reportedly doesn’t fancy him.
The Argentine has gone on record to say that he only wants an attacker who fits his system, and if Bielsa doesn’t want Sharp then it’d be pretty pointless to bring him in.
Yes, a striker who can score like the former Southampton man are hard to come by, but playing up front for Leeds is about more than just scoring goals – just ask Patrick Bamford.
In other news, Phil Hay has said that Leeds won’t be doing one thing this month.
