da pinup bet: After weeks of speculation it looks like fans across the world can stop wondering whether Brendan Rodgers will keep his job as manager of Liverpool.
da fazobetai: The Northern Irish manager became the first since 1950 not to win a trophy in his first three years in charge of the club. On the last day of the season they slumped to an embarrassing 6-1 loss to Stoke City, their worst defeat in 52 years. Despite all the problems on the pitch, issues with contracts and bad publicity over the season it seems Rodgers will still be at Anfield next season. Many fans believe that his time is up, and with some big names such as Jurgen Klopp leaving their current positions in Europe they were hoping to attract one of them to the club.
Rodgers is set to meet with Mike Gordon of the Fenway Sports Group (who own the Reds) in the next few weeks, but it seems clear now that there are no plans to dismiss the under-fire boss after a season which saw them go from title contenders to scrapping for a Europa League place. Before the last game of the season Rodgers told the press he was “150% confident” that he would still be in charge come August. However, this was before the horror at Britannia Stadium occurred.
It seems that the bosses at FSG have no intention of a change around in the management system. They are planning to sit down and discuss where things went wrong this season and see what they need to do to improve. They all want the club to move forward. After a successful season last year, Rodgers signed a new four-year contract and the owners are ready to keep to that as long as both parties are on the same page. Rodgers deserves to be given another chance, as while they haven’t competed for the Premier League title like they did in the last campaign they have still remained in the top half of the table and qualified to play in Europe. If the club hadn’t had such a season in 2014- which came as a slight shock to most people- fans would not be classing this season as such a failure.
With Daniel Sturridge, one of their key players, out for a huge part of the season it wasn’t unusual that they struggled. When a team loses its top goalscorer it is bound to make a difference to how the team performs. While there was a lack of energy at Anfield this campaign, there have been some major improvements since Rodgers took over. They reached two cup semi-finals and made the Champions League for the first time since 2010. He is trying to build a future and the fans have their sights set high after last season. Keeping him on his toes is good but get behind him from August.
Rodgers is in and he deserves to be there.
